Our Vision is to be a national model of excellent healthcare.Coding Compliance (Auditing) ManagerThe Coding Compliance Manager is responsible for participating in the unit operations of reviewing, auditing, and compliance oversight of coding activities and actions within the organization and assigned departmental operations. This role supports clinical and financial processes by ensuring that clinical care is accurately, appropriately, and consistently documented. The Coding Compliance Manager will facilitate staff orientation and training, monitor compliance to agency, local, state, federal and contractually agreed upon regulations and standards, facilitate the development of ongoing performance improvement, and monitor pertinent sources for changes in regulations and expectations.The completion of the duties, tasks, or assignments utilizes independent judgment in the execution within the scope or authority and responsibility for the position.-- The Coding Compliance Manager must be able to perform all essential functions, duties, tasks, assignments, and responsibilities assigned within the El Rio organization at a location assigned by management.The primary goal of the El Rio Health Coding Compliance Manager is to support El Rio's Mission of providing comprehensive, quality health care that is affordable and accessible to all who may have healthcare needs, by successfully performing the primary essential functions.Minimum Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management or related field from accredited college or university.Five (5) years of supervisory experience; preferably in a health care business office environment.Five (5) years' experience as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Clinical Coding Specialist (CCS)Five (5) years' experience in any of these areas: Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement and regulations, internal auditing, healthcare operations, or medical records.If applicable, equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered, and must be directly related to the functions and responsibilities of the job. -- Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations: Must possess and maintain a current Certified Professional Coding (CPC) or Clinical Coding Specialist (CCS) certification.Employees in this position may be required to have reliable transportation that can meet any operational reassignments of the organization during the workday.-- If an employee is driving during work hours, the employee is required to possess a valid driver's license and must comply with Arizona vehicle insurance requirements.Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities:Master's degree in Finance, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Health Information Management or a related healthcare field from an accredited college or university.Seven (7) years of supervisory experience; preferably in a health care business office environment.Seven (7) years' experience as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Clinical Coding Specialist (CCS).Seven (7) years' experience in any of these areas: Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement and regulations, internal auditing, healthcare operations, or medical records.Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA) or Certified Healthcare Auditor (CHA) certification.Core Competencies: Performance ManagementProblem Solving/AnalysisSupervisionQuality ManagementComplianceBilling/Coding/AuditingCustomer /Client FocusStress Management/ComposureManagement Duties:Direct supervision of staff as assigned.Participates in recruiting, selecting and training staff as assignedSchedules staff, employee training, professional development and annual performance reviews as assigned.--El Rio Health does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age 40 and over, disability, genetic information, military status, ancestry, marital status, familial status, or any other status protected by law or regulation.
