This position is not included in the bargaining unit.Tour of Duty:Monday through Friday, Hours range between 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., Alternate Work Schedule (AWS)is not available.A one-year probationary periodwill be required.Candidates must clear the fingerprint process and initiate the required background investigation prior to final selection.This job opportunity announcement may be used to fill additional vacancies.Theindividual selected forthis position will: Complete a variety of clerical and administrative duties in support of the branch operations.Control all incoming correspondence and action items and maintain logs, files and records of correspondence and technical actions or programs.Draft responses to routine requests for more information concerning the programs and operations of the office.Maintain appointment calendars for office, schedule meetings and arrange travel and accommodations for staff and incoming visitors.Assists Human Resources with employee onboarding process.RequirementsConditions of EmploymentMust be a U.S. citizen and suitable for Federal employment.Must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable. (www.sss.gov)If resume is incomplete, applicant may not be considered for this vacancy.Able to type 40 wpm with 3 or fewer errors based on a 5-minute sample.Youmust meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.Candidates must clear the fingerprint process and initiate the required background investigation prior to final selection.QualificationsYouMUST have a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute with 3 or fewer errors based on a five-minute sample,and one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience as listed below or education substittution.You may meet the typing requirement by answering "Yes" to the online question regarding your typing ability.SpecializedExperience: You qualify at the Grade 05 level if you possess one year of specialized experience that equips you with the skills needed to perform the job duties. This specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the grade 04 level to meet the qualification requirements in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as experience that demonstrates the application of knowledge of clerical procedures, methods and techniques, and the ability to assimilate a wide variety of clerical assignments.Education Substitution: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of studyin an accredited college, university or business, secretarial, or technical school may be substituted for the required experience.One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school.Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements.Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations, (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
