Education Standard Professional Elementary and/or Secondary
Teaching Certification High School experience preferred Five years
teaching experience preferred KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES 1.

and record-keeping skills. 3. Professional written and verbal
communication skills. 4. Skill in establishing and maintaining

the basic course content for students; and, educational goals and
objectives for students. 14. Utilize, with fidelity, the District
Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) program at the
building level. 15. Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for
working with students. 16. Ability to understand and maintain
students' and parents' rights to confidentiality and not violate
those rights; nor discuss students in inappropriate places or with
anyone not in direct contact with such individual students. 17.
Ensure information obtained through the course of duties associated
with this position, is held in the highest of confidentiality. 18.
Perform all duties in accordance with Federal and State laws,
district procedures, and Board policies, including mandatory

perform additional position-specific duties. PRIMARY DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinate the activities and and management of
the Student Services Program, which includes but is not limited to
PBIS committees, or other related programs. Work in conjunction
with school counselors and behavioral specialists to develop
systems to support positive behaviors site-wide. Assist in campus
supervision during non-instructional time (before school, passing
time, lunch, after school). Monitor and manage school security
including security officers and monitors. Administer student
discipline, suspensions and long-term suspensions under the
guidance of the principal/assistant principal. Complete the
investigative work necessary in discipline cases and prepare all
information for disposition by the principal/assistant principal.
Ensure that the Principal is kept informed of all pertinent
information directly related to duties and responsibilities. All
final disciplinary decisions regarding suspensions and expulsions
will be made by the principal/assistant principal. Schedule parent
conferences as directed by the principal/assistant principal. Work
with community agencies (Crisis Team, Department of Child Services,
Police, etc.) as directed the principal/assistant principal. Assist
in the management and coordination of all extracurricular
activities, including Assemblies, Intramural contests and other
school events. Assist with dropout prevention. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The
physical demands described here are representative of those that
must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential

required to reach with hands and arms, sit, stand, walk, stoop, and
bend as necessary. The employee may lift, carry, push, pull, or

occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds. The employee will read
correspondence and computer screens, and use the telephone. WORK
ENVIRONMENT Indoor office environment. This position regularly
works indoors. The noise level in the work environment is quiet to
moderate and may become excessively noisy at times. Will have
substantial contact with parents, students, staff, and the public.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS The Dean of Students reports to the
Principal. The Dean of Students has direct line supervisory
relationship with teachers, counselors and classified personnel
matters dealing with areas of responsibilities, as outlined.
TheDean of Students will interact cooperatively with all other
staff positions. All elements of good human relations will be
practiced. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT PROFESSIONAL INITIAL WAGE PLACEMENT
