Missile Systems is searching for an Advanced Electronic Warfare (EW) Signal Processing Engineering Fellow to help guide and foster the development of advanced RADAR Signal Processing analysis and solutions in order to understand, model, create, and drive performance of our radar systems in electronic attack (EA) environments as a member of the System Design & Performance (SD&P) Directorate in Tucson, AZ. The Advanced Electronic Warfare Signal Processing Engineering Fellow will be expected to leverage a deep understanding of RADAR hardware design and signal processing expertise, waveform analysis and design to address new challenges and develop new solutions in the design, implementation, integration, analysis, and modeling of missile RADAR systems in EA limited environments, to enhance current Electronic Protection (EP) techniques, and to develop new innovative EP techniques. Familiarity with defense industry processes (including design, test, and procurement) and tactical missile system knowledge is necessary. Candidate is expected to immerse in the C++ implementation of our tactical software and simulations during the first year. Responsibilities include design, modeling, and analysis of RADAR signal processing algorithms in missile systems engineering applications As an Engineering Fellow, responsibilities also include mentoring apprentices, collaborating across programs, advising senior leadership, establishing technology roadmaps, representing SD&P as a key spokesperson, and a continued involvement in the technical fields associated with EA/EP/EW outside of the company. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.Security Requirements:Must currently have a Department of Defense issued Secret Security Clearance, with ability to obtain Top Secret. DoD Top Secret clearance desired with current SSBI within last 5 years. Additional clearances may also be required from the DoD.Required Education, Skills and Experience:Bachelor---s Degree in engineering disciplines, natural or physical sciences, mathematics, or physicsTwelve (12+) years of engineering experience in RADAR signal processing algorithm development and prototype including target detection, tracking, recognition and/or sensor fusion.Twelve (12+) years of signal processing experience involving probability theory, stochastic signal processing, and electromagnetic theory or related disciplines.Eight (8+) years in RADAR systems engineering to include program support through participation in design / peer reviews.Applied work experience with MATLAB and C++ or other object oriented programming languages.Experience with execution of concept and performance trade studies.Past work experience preparing and delivering technical briefs to internal leadership, colleagues and external customers.Author of intellectual property (patent disclosures), conference/journal publications and/or presentations in applicable technical areas within the past ten (10) years. U.S. citizenship is requiredMust be willing to relocate to Tucson, ArizonaDesired Education, Skills and Experience:Advanced degree in aforementioned disciplines. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standardEight (8+) years engineering experience in Missile systems.Ability to actively participate in definition of team objectives and provide solutions to complex technical tasks.Attributes to be an effective individual and team contributor.Strong advocate for technical integrity across multiple programs or product lines.A ---big thinker--- who does not operate in a silo, but can think about where a program or product line is heading or needs to go, while considering the technical aspects of how to get us there.Mentoring, champion of respect, diversity and ethics.Demonstrate ability to continuously adapt to changing business needs.Strong fundamentals in radar signal processing, including Fast Fourier Transforms (FFTs), detection processing theory, clutter mitigation, matched filter theory, etc. Experience in formal teaching of radar signal processing techniques at a university or within industry.Strong EP experience, which includes adaptive processing, super-resolution, radar parameter agility, and/or Low Probability of Intercept (LPI). Strong understanding of EA and EW approaches. Experience designing EW techniques and testing victim radars with various EW approaches. Knowledge of the EW system, including the receiver and internal processing. Relationships with the EA/EW industry to leverage that knowledge base.Broad experience in adjacent disciplines to radar signal processing, including modeling and simulation, guidance and controls, RF hardware, embedded software development, and HardWare In the Loop (HWIL) testing.Experience leading large teams as a chief engineer. Success in leading multi-disciplined teams. Direct interaction and strong relationship with customer. Known among the customer base as a leader in the area of EW.Recognized as subject matter expert with prior defense contractor businesses. Evidence of providing guidance among multiple projects to ensure a robust radar solution.Recognized as a subject matter expert within the industry. Lead and present at conferences.
