Marana, US-AZ, 85653 POSITION OVERVIEW The Mechanical Engineer
provides support for continual improvement in statistical equipment
reliability issues, process control, structural analysis, safety,
manpower issues, and any other situations as they may arise. This
position will also manage specific projects as needed and directed.
This position requires a responsible, self-motivated person who can
work efficiently with minimal supervision. The Engineer will
monitor equipment in the SXEW and Mine Departments as well as the
water system. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS --- Provide assistance and
participate in the development, execution and completion of small
to medium projects, including project specifications and scopes of
work. --- Participate in the day-to-day operations of small to
medium site construction, modification, and expansion projects. ---
Utilize new technology with minimal supervision to constantly
upgrade and improve site safety, efficiencies, cost controls,
quality controls and protection of the environment. --- Observe
operations and maintenance procedures to develop recommendations
for improvements. --- Coordinate project activities with the Mine
Operations and Maintenance Departments to improve equipment
maintenance availability and other KPIs. --- Analyze and advise
feasibility and improvements on work simplification projects. ---
Document, control, and maintain quality documents in their area of
responsibility. --- Assist the Engineering, Mine Operations and
Maintenance Departments in problem solving efforts to improve
safety, equipment reliability, and protection of the environment.
--- Work to achieve higher equipment availability and lower
maintenance costs through predictive maintenance. --- Regularly
schedule equipment monitoring with predictive technologies. ---
Data collection, analysis and reporting utilizing tribology,
ultrasonic, and vibration analysis. --- Review, investigate, and
develop appropriate recommendations regarding assigned Reliability
Engineering projects with minimum supervision utilizing new
technology to constantly upgrade and improve site safety,
efficiencies, cost controls, quality controls and protection of the
environment. --- Participate and/or conduct root cause analysis
sessions upon equipment failure. --- Assist on departmental
projects, management, and recommendations. 1. Responsible for
executing, supporting, and enforcing the Company's Environmental,
Health and Safety program as required by OIS policy, directives,
and principles. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES ---
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw
valid conclusions. --- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of
technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal
with several abstract and concrete variables. --- Familiarity in
statistical process control, structural analysis, strength of
materials, fluids, and pumps. --- Knowledge of the principles and
practices of reliability engineering. --- Ability to read and
interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedure manuals. --- Ability to write technical
reports, letters, memos, and capital appropriation requests. ---
Ability to speak effectively before groups. --- Ability to apply
principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of
intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal
symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.) in its
most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract
and concrete variables. --- Able to research and analyze
information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions.
--- Must have excellent computer skills with MS Windows, MS Word,
MS Excel, Access, MS Outlook and AutoCAD or other similar CAD type
programs. --- Must have strong organizational skills and be able to
manage time effectively and set priorities. --- Requires the
ability to manage multiple tasks. --- Ability to communicate
clearly and express ideas effectively both verbally and in writing.
--- Must have a valid driver's license. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND
EXPERIENCE --- B. S. degree in Mechanical Engineering --- 0 - 1
