Job Duties
For Caterpillar, digital means using technology to extract data
from our machines and engines and transform it into valuable
recommendations or "insights," to help customers make better, more
informed decisions and help Caterpillar make robust products with
the lowest total ownership cost. Our products generate and process
large amounts of data from sensors, on-board models, and control
algorithms in real-time creating real-world machine usage
information. Verification/Validation Engineers are fully engaged in
digital, both through a technical awareness of the digital
components & systems which they test, and through expertly
utilizing digital tools and methodologies when they plan and
execute tests.

Quality deliverables associated with complex technical engineering

of processes. In addition to demonstrating technical expertise, a
person in this position may be called on to act as a team and/or
project leader, but major focus is on technical delivery. Directing

development, continuously learning through experience and staying
abreast of technology. Key skills to broaden at this level include
