Job Description:

Nesco Engineering and IT is currently seeking a SR Project Manager, preferably with Defense Industry experience or background to work permanently in Tucson Arizona. SR Project Manager needed with 5-10 years of demonstrated Project Leadership with Defense Industry experience. Must have thorough knowledge and understanding to--review and approve design proposals for prospective products, specify test methods and assist in the development of test beds, ensure adherence to statements of work, completion of schedules and delivery of required products/services for Government, Defense, Military or General Industry customers. Provide product technical support for the development and testing of complex optical assemblies, environmental testing including shock & vibration, thermal shock, pressure sealing and immersion product testing. Preference given to those with imagery, optical, laser or lens--manufacturing background.Project responsibilities to include:* Coordinate all activities to meet project cost, schedule, and performance of multiple assigned projects* Assess and develop project feasibilities, project plans and compliance matrices* Customer point of contact for external projects* Interface with product line management for spec development on internal projects* Develop and manage risk assessment and risk mitigation plans through risk analysis* Head project meetings and present project schedule and status to customers and management* Work with engineering to establish test requirements and resources* Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures and regulationsQualifications: Must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident (green card holder) to meet ITAR regulated industry requirements.Required Skills and Abilities:* Ability to communicate and interact effectively with customers and various levels of technical staff with--desire to work in a collaborative environment and fast-growing team.* Excellent conflict resolution and negotiation with ability to communicate and interact effectively with customers* Hands-on experience in the development and testing of complex assemblies* Job Shop manufacturing knowledge--requiring environmental testing including shock, vibration, thermal shock, pressure sealing and immersion testing for defense and commercial products* PC skills: Literacy in MS Projects, Excel, Word, and optical/mechanical design software such as SolidWorks, CAD, ProE or those alike. Education/Experience: Minimum B.S.
