DescriptionGENERAL SUMMARY:

Partners with the VP, Corporate Communications & Training and internal clients to plan and implement the credit union's corporate communications strategy to ensure internal understanding of key strategic, tactical, and operational concepts and external awareness of credit union news. Primary responsibilities include managing corporate communications staff in the development and execution of communications efforts and initiatives (including but not limited to internal and external corporate announcements, informative and engaging intranet content, and special events for internal and external audiences). They will also be responsible for ongoing evaluation of the quality and effectiveness of communications efforts and exploring opportunities for innovation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, English, or a related field
  • Four years of experience managing creative/communications teams to include experience in:



    • copywriting and editing
    • event planning or project management
    • public and media relations


      Additional Preferred Education & Experience:


      • Hands on experience creating graphic content
      • Hands on experience building or maintaining websites or intranets
      • Experience working with a retail financial institution, and deep familiarity with financial institution operating areas, functions, and products and services

        • Ability to work closely with cross-functional departments to understand internal client needs and communicate organizational news and information as relevant to internal departments or external audiences

            WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT:
            This job requires the employee to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Infrequent lifting up to 25 lbs.

            OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
            Must comply with all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).

            MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES AND TASKS:

          • Develops and manages the production of robust internal communications content, including copywriting and design for internal emails, discussion guides, FAQs, presentations, and intranet and steps in as needed to produce and publish content.
          • Identifies opportunities to deploy communications to leverage awareness of key organizational objectives and updates across the organization in support of the credit union's overall strategic plan.
          • Proactively collaborates with all levels of the organization to understand needs as they pertain to corporate communications initiatives.
          • Responds to, evaluates, and approves requests for internal communications support and fulfills or delegates requests from internal clients.
          • Provides oversight, project management, and tactical support as needed for department-level projects including, but not limited to internal and external special events.
          • Participates in project meetings with internal departments and vendors to assess the appropriate corporate communications support needed.
          • Reviews and approves corporate communications content to ensure adherence to grammar, punctuation, and spelling rules, as well as style and public/employer branding guidelines.
          • Shares in the oversight for the strategic development, enhancements and maintenance of the credit union's intranet and integration of technological enhancements as well as strategizing enhancement opportunities.
          • Develops contacts and relationships with media representatives and community leaders to create opportunities for keeping the organization, brand and its products and services top-of-mind.
          • Issues press releases and appropriately routes responses to media-related inquiries as needed.
          • Recruits, trains, develops, and provides oversight to supporting staff including monitoring goals, objectives, managing day to day operational activities and performing periodic performance reviews
          • Maintains a positive image in the community and throughout the credit union.
          • Performs other duties as assigned.

            Salary range is $71,805.29 - $94,244.45. Job Grade 14, exempt. Final salary is dependent on a candidate's experience and qualifications.
