RMD provides affordable, integrated solutions to a broad international and domestic customer base; we are one team with the expertise to look across the entire mission area and quickly deliver comprehensive solutions.The Electrical Products Team (EPT) directorate within the RMD Engineering team is seeking an engineering leader with an understanding of Power and Analog product development including design, analysis, simulation, test, and documentation of power conversion electronics, power conversion and controls topologies and analog electronics, with an emphasis on military focused end use applications. The leader will also engage in discipline specific road mapping and architecting activities at the component, product, and system level. The role will also require knowledge of earned-value techniques, project management experience, the ability to recruit and develop technical talent and mentor future leaders.The Department Leader (DL) for the Low Voltage Power Products (LVPP) Dept. is responsible for the results and effectiveness of this department. Performs all functional manager responsibilities including performance development, goal planning, disciplinary actions, mentoring, career development, execution of RMD Engineering and Electrical Product Team (EPT) organization initiatives, and managing of department expenses, accountable for cost, technical, schedule support, and meeting program goals. Ensures that members of the department support product design and production activities in accordance with established RMD engineering design and fabrication practices, works closely with missile program leadership to ensure successful execution of development efforts, interacts with cross-functional teams and supports all pertinent engineering disciplines. Supports leadership alignment to define and achieve the strategic vision for the LVPP and EPT organization. The department is comprised of approximately 130 power designers, lab support technicians and flight termination system (FTS) and Telemetry engineers.Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Provide guidance, coaching and leadership to Section Leads, Chief Engineers, Technology discipline leads and IPTLs within the dept. to ensure effective communications and program execution
  • Responsible for reviewing proposals, utilization of EVMS techniques (EACs, LREs, IMS) to manage programs
  • Provide engineering oversight to programs supported by the dept. through the planning and leadership of project design reviews and peer reviews, including technical briefings to internal leadership and external customers
  • Ensure appropriate employee development through effective performance management including goal setting, career planning and the performance development cycle
  • Responsible for leading the dept. leadership team (SLs) through employee performance impact assessment sessions, employee training and developmental task assignmentsQualifications You Must Have:
    • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience
    • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Power electronics design, Control electronics design, low noise analog/mixed signal design, flight termination system design, telemetery system design.
    • Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and development and management of budgets
    • Experience with project, program and/or task planning
    • Experience leading cross functional teams
    • An active and in-scope Secret US security clearanceQualifications We Value:
      • Advanced degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or related engineering degree
      • Proven background in design compliance during design/development and production
      • Expert knowledge and experience leading a multi-disciplined department
      • Strong systems engineering thought process with good analytical skills
      • Able to network/influence outside of the LVPP Dept. with other design organizations and project leadership, other Engineering disciplines and Manufacturing
      • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with peers, suppliers, management, and customers in a production environment
      • Proven experience in balancing engineering process discipline and innovation for rapid development and program success
      • Ability to effectively work multiple tasks and priorities
