Job Description:
Statistical Research, Inc. (SRI), a cultural resources
consulting firm, has one full-time position available for a Project
Director based out of its Tucson, Arizona office. SRI provides
comprehensive CRM services to private and government clients at the
federal, state, and local levels throughout the western United
States from offices in Arizona, California, Colorado, New Mexico,
and Washington.Minimum qualifications and Experience:The ideal
candidate will have an MA or MS degree in anthropology with a focus
in prehistoric archaeology, be Register of Professional
Archaeologist certified, and possess a minimum of five years of
field experience with at least two years experience as a field
supervisor on survey, testing, and data recovery projects. Prior
Mojave Desert, coastal California, Nevada, and Sonoran Desert
experience will be viewed favorably, and a working command of
federal and state cultural resource statutes and regulations is
desirable. Demonstrated prior experience serving as lead author for
Section 106 compliance reports will be viewed favorably.SRI offers

and industry standards.Job Description:The position of Project
Director (PD) is responsible for preparing and implementing survey,
testing, monitoring, and data recovery plans and coordinating
through the appropriate channels all field and analytic tasks
associated with fieldwork, analysis, and report preparation. This
work typically involves traveling and/or fieldwork. The PD is
responsible for report writing and for having a solid understanding
of the basics of cultural resource management.For small- and
medium-sized projects, the PD may also assume many of the tasks
typically assigned to a principal investigator (PI) or senior
project director (SPD), though he or she is still ultimately
responsible to the PI for that project. For larger projects, the PD
will work with an SPD and/or the PI and the project manager to
ensure that all tasks associated with project implementation are
accomplished professionally in a timely and fiscally responsible
manner. For all projects in which he or she participates, the PD is
responsible for meeting her or his deadlines, remaining on budget,
and for meeting SRI--------s standard of care.A PD will typically
work on 2-----"3 projects simultaneously, and is expected to be
able to multitask. A PD has an MA or MA degree in anthropology or
other pertinent field and at least five years of fieldwork with at
least two years of experience as a field supervisor on survey,
testing, and data recovery projects. He or she will often be
responsible for training crew members and crew chiefs in
archaeological field methods. The ability to work harmoniously and
productively with other SRI staff and clients is essential. The PD
is expected to be a professionally active member of the discipline.
Finally, the PD is expected to conduct herself/himself in a manner
appropriate to an SRI staff member at all times.How to
