Job Description:

Position: Executive Manager of Retail Department: Del Sol Marketplace Job Summary: Under general direction, oversees the operation of Del Sol Marketplace including sales of fuel, merchandise and foodstuffs. Ensures the achievement of established profitability goals and guest service standards. Duties & Responsibilities (specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to): Oversees and directs the Store Manager in the business development, budget management, and overall guidance of retail profitability. Oversees implementation of the Shell Dealer Supply Agreement. Keeps abreast of industry trends and standards monitoring local competitors to retain a competitive edge. Oversees and ensures that inventory is maintained at acceptable levels based on historical seasonal sales records. Assists and oversees development of operating and capital budgets as well as preparation of regular reports to senior management staff. Exhibits excellent team leadership/development and collaborating ability with Manager, Assistant Managers and Supervisors. Oversees and approves the design, implementation and maintenance of security measures against theft in conjunction with Casino Del Sol Resort Surveillance Department. Oversees and develops staff training programs ensuring all staff are receiving on-going mandatory and positional training. Oversees the development of short and long-term strategic planning. Maintains constant awareness of services, promotions and concerts and events offered by Casino Del Sol Resort in keeping guests/patrons aware of what is happening at the main property. Prepares inventory and sales reports for Executive Management and Finance department. Assigns decision making and work functions in an appropriate manner to maximize effectiveness of the facility. Confers with Manager and Assistant Managers to review achievements and discuss needed changes in goals or objectives. Oversees and recommends techniques to improve productivity, reduce costs and improve customer service. Enforces safety, health and security rules. Oversees and monitors performance of purchasing related functions including inventory control and reconciliation. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of retail operations and purchasing for a large volume 24/7 full-service retail facility. Knowledge of business and management principles. Knowledge of some mechanical systems associated with fuel tank/pump equipment and car wash operations. Knowledge of general retail concepts and methodologies associated with operation of a large retail facility. Knowledge of store operations, human resources, finance, guest service, marketing, and logistics. Knowledge of inventory, receiving and all associated systems and equipment. Skill in implementing techniques to improve productivity, reduce costs and improve customer service. Skill in service technologies needed to provide a high level of merchandising and suggestive selling. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to provide leadership and develop team members. Ability to review and comprehend all necessary documentation. Ability to work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of crowds and noise, the severity of which depends on guest volume. Ability to accomplish duties in a positive manner. Ability to twist, push/pull/lift up to 30 pounds. Ability to effectively and efficiently move around the work area. Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or related field and eight (8) years management experience OR any combination of academic education, professional training or work experience. Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially word processing and spreadsheet applications. Demonstrated experience with CSA Point of Sale systems and cash handling procedures. Must either possess or obtain a valid food handler's certificate and Alcohol Awareness card within three (3) months of employment. Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays and special events, as needed. Must have employment eligibility in the U.S. Demonstrated track record of outstanding guest service. Must be able to obtain, maintain and retain a valid gaming license. Preferred Qualifications : Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Retail Merchandising, Management, Business Administration or related degree. Experience with a high volume retail environment. Bilingual (English/Spanish). Employment Type: Full Time Years Experience: 5 - 10 years
