Quality and Innovation - Director of Clinical Informatics Manning House I, 450 W. Paseo Redondo, Tucson, Arizona, United States of America Req #3140 Monday, January 4, 2021 The Director of Clinical Informatics leads and is responsible for the planning and implementation of information systems used in the clinical environment, ensuring that these systems are in alignment with El Rio Health's strategic plan. The Director of Clinical Informatics is responsible for developing and driving successful clinical transformation activities, particularly through engaging organizational leadership in the implementation of clinical improvements, system changes, processes, and standards. This position will provide clinical perspective to informatics projects or systems that impact patient care or clinical practice.

The primary goal of the El Rio Health Director of Clinical Informatics is to support El Rio's Mission of providing comprehensive, quality health care that is affordable and accessible to all who may have healthcare needs, by successfully performing the primary essential functions.
-- Minimum Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in management information systems, nursing, healthcare, clinical or related field from an accredited university.
• Five (5) years' progressive experience in a role performing informatics functions in a clinical setting.
• Five (5) years' experience in a clinical role performing direct patient care or consult with patients.
• Seven (7) years' management experience, preferably in a health care environment.
• Exceptional skills and knowledge in IT analytical tools, including Microsoft Applications, databases, and EHR applications. If applicable, equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered, and must be directly related to the functions and responsibilities of the job.
  -- Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations:
  • A current CPR for Healthcare providers certification for those who are Registered Nurses
  • Employees in this position are required to have reliable transportation that can meet any operational reassignments of the organization during the workday.If an employee is driving during work hours, the employee is required to possess a valid driver's license and must be in compliance with Arizona vehicle insurance requirements. Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities:
    • Master's Degree management information systems, nursing, healthcare, or a related field from an accredited university.
    • Seven (7) years' experience in a leadership role in a healthcare environment performing informatics functions and program development.
    • Seven (7) years' experience in a clinical role performing direct patient care or consult with patients.
    • Ten (10) years' management experience, preferably in a health care environment.
    • Exceptional skills and knowledge in IT analytical tools, including Microsoft Applications, databases, and EHR applications.
