Job Description:

We are looking for a PRN Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our radiology team! The position is in beautiful Green Valley, Arizona, 25 miles south of Tucson. Arizona Paid Sick Time Discounts for various products and services Position Summary: Provides diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine services as requested by a physician. Major Duties: Performs procedures for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Accurately and aseptically delivers correct measured dose of radioactive tracer to correct patient by required route. Demonstrates ability to competently operate imaging and non-imaging equipment required for performance of Nuclear Medicine studies. Anticipates changes in established protocol and implements these changes as needed to tailor procedure/answer clinical questions. Processes computer assisted analysis of raw data as well as hard copies of imaged procedures. Provides patient care during examinations and actively participates in patient/family education. Assists physicians with patient care in emergency situations as required. Respects patient privacy /confidentiality and uses discretion in discussing patient matters. Transports patients to and from the Nuclear Medicine area as required. Clearly explains exams and provides patient comfort and instruction in a courteous and professional manner. Supports the Nuclear Medicine policy and philosophy of giving thorough explanations of all procedures to patients and family. Performs duties of a radio pharmacist and required quality assurance documentation according to state, federal, department and hospital guidelines. Mixes required radiopharmaceuticals according to established safety protocols. Accurately draws up measured dose of correct radiopharmaceutical to be administered by prescribed route. Performs and documents required quality control procedures on generator and dose calibrator. Safely disposes of contaminated medical materials (syringes, needles, vials, patient products) according to established safety protocol. Orders, receives and properly stores radioactive materials. Performs complex labeling procedures for clinical patient exams. Performs daily and weekly quality control procedures on non-imaging equipment as required. Maintains and updates quality control logs for all imaging cameras, computers, radio pharmacy and hot lab equipment. Routinely screens examination requisitions for completeness and contacts physicians, clinics, in-patient units and/or patients as necessary to assure appropriateness of examinations. Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications and Preferred Qualifications: ARRT, ASCP, CNMT or NMTCB certified One year experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
