Diem Days Position SummaryAssists the surgical team to provide
patient care for assigned patients under the direction and
supervision of the Registered Nurse. Demonstrates advanced
knowledge of physical and technical requirements of surgical
intervention: complex procedures, serves as resource person
regarding instrumentation. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of
anatomy and physiology. Ability to scrub more than three
specialties proficiently. Willingness to assist circulator and
takes initiative to ensure availability of necessary equipment.
Responsible for maintaining effective communication skills.
Participates in monitoring and maintaining resources in specific
department. Understands and contributes to the vision/mission and
goals of the department. Works in a secure department with access
to areas where medications are stored. Handles and labels
medications on the sterile field under the direct supervision of
licensed personnel.Surgical Tech III OR Per Diem Days
ResponsibilitiesAssist the surgical team before, during, and after
Participate in "time-out" and follows Universal Protocol
Place equipment and supplies in the operating room and arranges
instruments according to preference cards.
Hand instruments and supplies to surgeon, holds retractors, cuts
sutures, and performs other technical tasks as directed by surgeon
Identify problems/concerns on the nursing unit and assists in
developing resolutions in a positive, constructive manner.
Make a positive contribution to the morale of the
Participate in performance improvement teams/activities.
Demonstrate ability to provide appropriate care to patients of all
Anticipate supplies and equipment needed by utilizing surgeon's

CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION,
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCEEDUCATION
Required: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma
Required: Current CPR (AHA)
Preferred: Successful completion of Surgical Technologists course
from an accredited facility.WORK EXPERIENCE
Required: Minimum of two years experience.
Preferred: Knowledge of hospital environment desired. Previous
hospital and/or health care related experience preferred.Skills
Required: Must possess effective interpersonal skills, team
