Hospice Associate Medical Director Opportunity - BAYADA Hospice provides the highest quality end-of-life care so our patients can remain at home with comfort, grace, and dignity. With a variety of care and comfort services delivered through an interdisciplinary team of health care professionals and volunteers, the goal of hospice is to support a patient's quality of life. We are currently hiring an Associate Medical Director to join our team of dedicated, compassionate caregivers to collaborate with office and field staff to ensure excellent client service, clinical care, quality and adherence to policies, procedures, hospice eligibility documentation, and Medicare Conditions of Participation. - We want you to leverage your compassion for patients and families, collaborative nature, and strong sense of integrity as a key member of the BAYADA team! - You will have ample support, while doing rewarding work and continuing to be challenged. Primary Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate and communicate the beliefs and values of BAYADA Home Health Care and The BAYADA Way.
  • -Assume responsibility for overseeing the palliation and management of the terminal illness, comorbidities, and associated symptoms.
  • -Perform those services appropriate to the position of Associate Medical Director of a hospice, which include, but are not limited to, the following administrative services:
    • Participate in Interdisciplinary Group (IDG) to coordinate all aspects of hospice care, including participation in initial and ongoing IDG comprehensive assessments.
    • Certify and recertify client eligibility for hospice care.
    • Ensure that the hospice Plans of Care (POC) are medically appropriate and consistent with federal and state laws and regulations in accordance with applicable Medicare hospice regulations. -
    • Assist with admissions, recertification's and discharges in consultation with client's attending physician (MD for Hospice POC) and in accordance with Medicare hospice regulations and/or state requirements. -
    • Develop strategies to build relationships with local physicians, which will include educating physicians on Hospice services and its medical policies and procedures.
    • -Act as a liaison to physicians in the community.
    • Participate in on-call rotation.
    • Participate in Hospice's quality assessment and performance improvement program.
    • Provide visits to Hospice clients, as requested by BAYADA. Minimum Qualifications
      • Exemplifies characteristics of The BAYADA Way: compassion, excellence and reliability.
      • Licensed to practice medicine or osteopathy without restriction in the appropriate state(s) (Arizona) and able to provide proof of current licensure.
      • Has extensive knowledge of the ethical and professional standards of the medical profession; applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations, including those related to the health and safety of patients; Hospice's policies and procedures; and the rules and regulations that are applicable to Hospice, including accreditation and certification requirement.
      • Maintains valid registration with the Drug Enforcement Administration ("DEA") and any applicable state agency without any limitation on the authority to prescribe drugs under such registration. Must provide current proof of such registration upon request.
      • Maintains unrestricted medical staff membership and clinical admitting privileges at any of Hospice's inpatient facilities.
      • Has a minimum of two (2) years of recent, verifiable, related clinical experience, preferably at least one (1) year in hospice, palliative or home care.
      • Prior supervisory experience commensurate with program requirements.
      • Completed criminal background and federal/state program exclusions checks. - As an accredited, regulated, certified, and licensed home health care provider, BAYADA complies with all state/local mandates.
