Registered Nurse (RN) | Telemetry Location: Gilbert, AZ Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,071 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Strong cardiac telemetry background, preferably 2 years. Experience in decreasing cardiac drips per physician orders and parameters. Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips. Description: This position requires strong telemetry skills. Travelers will need to pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to start. There is a PASS/FAIL simulation lab on day one. Nurses will care for patients who are waiting for placement from the emergency department. The unit has a ratio of 1 nurse to 4 patients. Common diagnoses include patients on telemetry monitoring. Nurses will be expected to titrate drips such as Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone. Charge nurse duties will be assigned as needed. Patient care technicians will be available on the unit. There are no vents on this unit. There are no monitor techs; nurses must monitor and interpret telemetry strips. Shifts will be 12 hours with the ability to self-schedule, though this may change. A weekend requirement of 4 shifts in a 4-week schedule is expected. Holidays will rotate with permanent staff. There is no call or standby requirement. Floating to medical/surgical/telemetry/overflow units may be necessary as needed. Navy scrubs are the required dress code. Nurses may be asked to assist with emergency department patients, including vital signs, IV starts, and medication administration. Nurses will not be primary for emergency department patient assignments. The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts during the assignment. Charting will be done using an electronic health record system.
