Carondelet. /n MRI Technologist Full Time Days Position Summary /n
Operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images used by
physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies. /n
Responsibilities /n Prepares and positions patients and selects
anatomic and technical parameters accurately to produce
cross-sectional images of the body. /n Performs patient
pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the
examination. /n Enters and monitors patient data, transfers images
from disk to magnetic media to produce the transparency, and
develops film in an automatic processor. /n Follows radiation
safety procedures and guidelines. /n Performs MRI procedures
utilizing a variety of frequencies, planes and techniques. /n This
position does not utilize ionizing radiation in the performance of
imaging examinations. /n Collects pertinent patient history and
document on requisition. /n Completes pre-MRI screening
questionnaire to assess suitability for magnetic environment. /n
Starts intravenous access as needed, and perform intravenous
injections using proper technique. /n Understands how to treat
patients with infiltrated IV sites. /n Maintains proper oxygen
therapy on patients who require oxygen. /n Maintains skills
required to change oxygen tanks. /n Must be familiar with the use
of masks and nasal canulae. /n Adjusts rate of O2 flow with
mask/nasal cannula according to written physician orders. Secures,
transports, and secures e-cylinders. /n Recognizes and responds to
emergencies and life-threatening situations. /n Promotes MR safety
through education of personnel and physicians and monitors
environment for potential hazards. /n /n THE MRI TECHNOLOGIST FULL
TIME DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION,
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE. /n
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION /n Certification Required:
ARRT- MR, or obtain MR certification within 2 years of
hire/transfer date. /n Certification Required: Basic Life Support
(BLS) - American Heart Association. /n EDUCATION /n Required:
Graduate of an accredited radiology or accredited MRI program. /n
WORK EXPERIENCE /n Required: None /n Preferred: One (1) year
