The House Supervisor/Manager is responsible for leading nursing
practice during their shift, managing the intake and referral
process during specific hours, role modeling effective and
therapeutic patient care, coaching nursing staff on best practices,
staff scheduling and compliance with policies and performance
management. The House Supervisor/Manager promotes patient care
consistent with the philosophy and objectives of the hospital.
This is a supervisory position, who directly reports to the
facility DON .
The House Supervisor/Manager maintains effective communication with
other departments: nursing, medical staff, corporate admissions,
social work and business development.
Inputs referral information into the department Excel spreadsheet
(source, insurance, packet diagnosis, admit or decline)
Enters and tracks admission and referral information into HSC
adding information such as patient contacts, etc. or correcting
errors in dates/times
Managerial functions include but not limited to hiring, performance
evaluations, scheduling and payroll functions
Ability to project a professional image
Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements and
hospital policies and procedures
Working knowledge and ability to apply professional and ethical
standards of practice in job situations
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Must demonstrate flexibility to meet the needs of all patients
Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job
functions (order entry, data entry)
Education and/or Experience:
Gradudate from an accredited school of professional nursing, BSN
Previous experience in a Psychiatric health care facility or
working with geriatric patients, minimum of 1 year experience
required, 3 or more years preferred.
Knowledge of hospital admissions functions, crisis intervention and
risk assessment, psychiatric diagnoses symptomatology, basic
chemical dependency, age specific growth and development and crisis
and behavior management preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Registered Nurse, who is currently licensed to practice, in good
standing, by the state of employment is required.
CPR certification and SAMA training required prior to any patient
contact and must be maintained throughout employment
