Raytheon Missiles & Defense is the world’s largest missile
producer. We are responsible for the design, test, manufacture, and
support of weapon systems equipping the US warfighter and our
international allies to meet a large variety of demanding mission
requirements. Every missile system produced by us contains advanced
electrical subsystems. These enable target detection, target
tracking, guidance, navigation, signal processing, and
communication in extreme battle-field environments. The Electrical
Products team is responsible for all aspects of these subsystems’
design, test, and production.
Electronics Product Development and Prototyping (EPDP), one of
seven departments within Electrical Products is looking for an
engineering leader (Section Head) in Tucson, Arizona. The EPDP
Department is the internal customer facing organization for
internal design activities and provides the expertise that
optimizes electronic hardware designs for producibility, provides
electrical circuit design, strategic procurement relationships, and
assembly services through project leadership to achieve cycle time,
technology, and cost goals.
Please Note: This position can be a Sr. Electrical Engineer II
(G09) or Principal Electrical Engineer (G10) based on the
candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience
and responsibility requirements for the position.
A Section Head within the EPDP Department would be expected to
lead a section of approximately 15-20 multi-functional engineers
across multiple disciplines. Tasks would include involvement in
gate and design reviews, performance management and career
development activities, hiring efforts, effective and efficient
program execution to reduce risk/cost through engagement with
program Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and be an active
participant on the functional leadership team supporting business
activities within the Electrical Products team at Raytheon Missiles
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in STEM
A minimum of 6 years of experience with one or more of the
following: Electrical design process, including but not limited to
laying out Rigid, Flex and/or Rigid-Flex PCBs
Printed Circuit Board Design, Manufacturing and Assembly
Mechanical components and being able to understand and interpret
drawings as they relate to PCBs and CCAs
Circuit manufacturing principles that affect circuity and
Experience leading a team in an electrical engineering
Experience with IPC and MIL specifications and design
US Citizenship is required
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an
active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.
Previous work history of achieving alignment and collaboration
between the various disciplines in order to achieve organizational
and programmatic objectives.
Capable of collaborating with others to develop the vision for
the EPDP section in Tucson and communicating this vision with
functional and program leaders, both locally and across the
country. Also, the applicant must help the section to develop to
support the vision.
Communication skills necessary to interface with all levels of
Skills and experience in the development and management of
Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), a basic understanding of earned
value management, and the ability to estimate future work.
Have the ability to apply extensive technical expertise and have
full knowledge of other related disciplines. Work will be performed
without appreciable direction.
