Job Description:

Security - Special Access Program (SAP) Security personnel interface with customers and the government on security requirements for proprietary programs as well as providing guidance and support to employees working on such activities, helping them stay abreast of changes and updates in requirements.

The Team Leader I, Industrial Security Performs a wide variety of tasks as part of the Special Programs team within Security. Will serve as the Team Lead overseeing/mentoring nine members of the Consolidated Security Office. Process requests for personnel security clearances for access to classified information. Develops and administers security procedures involving personnel security (PERSEC) actions. Reports required information to the customer including adverse information, personnel status changes, foreign contacts, and foreign travel. Updates computer databases with vital security information. Collects, studies, and implements federal security regulations that apply to company operations. Coordinates with government agencies to obtain rulings and interpretations for compliance with regulations. Participates in security reviews, compares procedures with actual operations, documents findings, and recommends corrective actions. Protects employee’s personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act and other applicable Government regulations.

The candidate must have interpersonal skills and be able to interface with customers at all levels. The candidate should be effective at organizing and prioritizing customer/management requests within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Strong communication skills are expected; to include: excellent writing, speaking, analytical, organizational, and customer service skills. Must be a self-starter and capable of working with a limited level of supervision and guidance, be committed to continuous learning and professional development, and work well as a member of cross-functional teams.

U.S. Citizenship status is required, as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.

Applicants may be considered for the Team Leader I, Industrial Security (G07) or the Team Leader II, Industrial Security (G08) position based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and position responsibilities. (Earned college credit and applicable experience can be taken into consideration in lieu of a degree. Transcripts will be requested to validate earned college credits.)

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Lead a team of Personnel Security Specialists by assisting the manager in establishing schedules, prioritizing assignments, providing training and oversight.

Administering the security procedures (NISPOM, DoDM 5205.07 series, Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 705, and JSIG), as they relate to operating in a classified environment for: personnel processing, media control, marking and control of documents / materials, security education, visitor control, destruction of classified.

Develop, prepare, and implement local Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Job Operating Instructions (JOIs), Operations Security (OPSEC) Plans, and proprietary test plans utilizing risk management principles.

Implement a media control program in accordance with JSIG requirements.

Establish, gain accreditation, and maintain a secure facility in accordance with (IAW) ICD 705.

Establish and maintain a visitor control program.

Conduct and/or participate in internal reviews and/or Government inspections.

Investigate security infractions/violations and prepare reports specifying the potential for loss or compromise and the associated risk to the program(s).

Maintain records and databases related to Personnel Security Clearances and accesses.

A valid driver’s license is required, as this position may involve escorting individuals across business locations.

Required Experience, Skills, and Education Bachelor’s Degree, or 8 years equivalent related experience in lieu of degree PLUS the following:

Team Leader I – Minimum of 2 years prior relevant experience (10 years without a Bachelor’s degree).

Team Leader II – Minimum of 4 years prior relevant experience (12 years without a Bachelor’s degree).

Active Secret security clearance - (Please note the current, final Secret clearance must have an investigation not older than 6 years on the first day of employment – confirmed prior to interview).

Experience in a management role and/or leading a team.

Experience with any of the following: NISPOM, DoDM 5205.07 series and/or ICD 705.

Experience with JPAS and/or eQIP Processing

U.S. citizenship is required.

Desired Experience, Skills, and Education Degree major in Business Management, Security and/or Risk Management, Government Policy, Information Management, Criminal Justice, or other related field of study.

Possess a final TOP SECRET security clearance with an investigation not older than 6 years on the first day of employment.

At least 6 years of National Security experience preferred.

Experience in leadership roles within security.

Related training with Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), Center for Development of Security Excellence (CDSE) including, Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC).

Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.

Ability to solve problems of limited scope and complexity.

Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).

Organizational skills including attention to detail, time management and multi-tasking.

Security Clearance: This position requires the successful issuance, transfer or maintenance of a security Clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement.
