Job Description:
The Central Administrative Services--(CAS)--unit of--the
Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy (AURA)--is
seeking a--Warehouse Supervisor--for its office in Tucson, AZ.
The--Warehouse Supervisor--performs duties associated with
coordinating imports and exports, supervises and assists Logistics
staff in the execution and performance of daily duties,--sets goals
and objectives, and--ensures department staff operate in conformity
with all Safety, Regulatory, and AURA standards.----Essential
Functions:--* Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution
operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program,
operational, and personnel policies and procedures.--* Complies
with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and
shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation;
enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed
actions.--* Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by
monitoring security procedures and protocols.--* Maintains
inventory of warehouse, packaging, and office supplies--* Maintains
physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new
design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for
repair and requisitions for replacement.--* Completes warehouse
operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees;
follows up on work results, contributes by accomplishing related
tasks as needed.--* Maintains warehouse staff job results by
coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, planning,
monitoring, and appraising job results.--* Maintains professional
and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops;
reviewing professional publications; establishing personal
networks; participating in professional societies.--* Oversees and
prepares all necessary import/export documents: files AES, obtains
CARNETs, prepares hazardous declarations, procures quotes, and
schedules international shipments in accordance with regulatory and
company standards----* Calculates customs duties, taxes, and
tariffs upon request. Works with internal and external customers to
verify incoterms, insurance, and customs formalities.--* Operates
and maintains all tools, machinery, forklifts, and delivery
vehicles in a safe and professional manner.----* Works with
Logistics Manager, Property Administrators, and Project Managers in
the event of special shipping of oversized freight, charter
arrangements, or licensed materials.--* Performs other duties as
assigned.--Required Education/Experience/Skills/Abilities:--*
Associates degree or equivalent experience.* Proficiency with
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).* Previous
experience shipping Hazardous Materials with certification (DOT,
IMDG, and IATA).* Possess one (1) or more years of experience
operating a forklift in a warehouse.* Possess or obtain Forklift,
IATA, DOT, and AES certificates.* Previous supervisor experience,
ability to understand deadlines, work under minimal supervision,
and have excellent people skills.* Continues export compliance
education and possesses general knowledge of BIS, OFAC, and DDTC
regulations.* Must wear provided steel-toed safety shoes and
uniform shirt during working hours.* Valid Arizona State driver's
license with no restrictions and ability to obtain a valid GSA
driving permit provided by AURA.Preferred
Education/Experience/Skills/Abilities:--* Class C CDL with HazMat
Endorsement.Physical Demands:The physical demands described here

safety guides, and other written materials necessary to perform
job; 2) sufficient visual capacity to* perform the applicable
functions without assistance of visual aids other than eye contacts
or eye glasses; 3) sufficient spoken aural capacity to hear and
understand instructions, warning bells, fire alarms, or shouted
instructions without assistance of auditory aids other than a
hearing aid; and 4) ability to impart information orally so that
others understand and can respond appropriately.* Must possess
sufficient mobility, strength or dexterity in both arms and hands
and both legs to a) grasp, push, pull, turn or otherwise manipulate
tools and mechanisms; b) push, shove, pull or otherwise safely and
efficiently manipulate tools or mechanisms; c) lift, hold,
maneuver, objects of 50 lbs. or more; d) maintain balance while
performing work; e) remove parts, systems, tools of 50 lbs. or
