We are looking for a Section Leader in the Naval Power RF, Sustainment and Sensors Effectors Signal Processing Department. This departments objective is to solve complex challenging Radar Signal Processing problems to support, drive, and enable key business captures, current programs, special projects, and wide-ranging business opportunities. This position is located in Tucson, Arizona. Section Leaders provide guidance, leadership and management to a team of approximately 10-15 Engineers. The candidate will act as a key leader and mentor in the department. They will bring to the position leadership, mentoring and influence skills, and foster teamwork and interdependent execution. The Section Leader will participate in talent acquisition, goal setting, performance development, and appraisal. The successful candidate will ensure that each direct report has suitable work assignments and opportunities for growth and career advancement. U.S. Citizenship status is required, as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment. Required Education, Experience, and Skills * Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related discipline * Six (6) years of documented work experience in the field of engineering or related technical discipline * Five (5) years of documented Radar Signal Processing program experience * Documented experience with missile components and systems * Documented experience in the following: * Supporting analyses, studies, and program reviews * Working with radar missile sensors and/or electronic warfare systems * Developing and presenting technical and analytical briefings to internal/external customers * U.S. citizenship is required * Existing Secret Clearance or above Desired Education, Experience, and Skills * Advanced Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related discipline * Experience with hardware/software integration * Previous leadership experience in the following: * Developing and mentoring new employees * Communicating with different levels of employees, departments, and/or customers * A leadership role within a Signal Processing department and/or function * Team building * Interviewing and hiring new employees * Experience and knowledge of the Naval Standard Missile Systems (NSMS) portfolio * Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM) * Earned Value Management System Certification * Experience and knowledge of the Integrated Product Development System (IPDS), Proposals and Basis of Estimates (BOEs) Keywords: leadership, systems, engineer, DoD, C/C++, Python, radar signal processing, RF sensor, electronic warfare, clearance This position can be a Salary Grade G09 or G10 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.
