Plus paid training, company vehicle, competitive salary, and 3 weeks PTO within your first year of employment!We are looking for mechanically inclined candidates with strong attention to detail and who is looking to become a long term Bear family member!DescriptionResponsibilities:Performs all work from the ground and may assist in aerial devices and laddersClears work area and maintains safe job site conditions.Excavates to assist in the installation of structures or fiber as required.Will have contact with public and private property owners to communicate work to be performed.Participates in company training of all regional safety guidelines and is required to perform all work by the regional safety policies.Assembles material on the ground to be installed by the line person or apprentice.Operates various tools for the work (manual digging devices, backhoe, mini-ex, wrenches, hammers, jack hammer and hand-line etc.).Works around hazardous equipment.Works near energized parts or equipment.All other duties as required or requested by Supervisors and/or Foremen.Willing to work outside in varying weather conditionsQualifications:Experience in UG and/or Aerial coax and fiber constructionCurrent CDL preferred but not requiredSafely enter and exit the rear-end of the bucket trucksAble to follow directions, work safely & productivelyEndurance necessary to perform these duties throughout a standard eight (8) or ten (10) hour day according to the scheduleCapable of working long hours and overtime during holidays, emergencies, weekends, etc.Due to the nature of our business, employees are required to work on a variety of different properties, including school grounds, businesses and private property. Therefore, individuals convicted of a sexual offense that limits or restricts the areas to which they may go or who are a registered sex offender in any state or national database do not meet the qualifications for employment.Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and the requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of timeWear necessary PPE as required by company policyEnter and exit a vehicle numerous times a dayBe able to stand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, i.e., rain, heat, sun, coldAble to traverse various terrainsCommunicate well with othersMaintain attention during dangerous tasksLift, move and maneuver up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis, and up to 10 pounds on a continuous basisSufficient eyesight to judge distances and coordination to get and use the appropriate equipment and toolsReliable transportation to and from work.Bear is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
