GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Virtual Classroom Teacher is responsible for creating a
premiere digital learning environment for students while
transforming the traditional brick and mortar classroom experience
to a digital platform. The Virtual Classroom Teacher will create
and deliver regular, responsive, and curriculum-aligned live and
recorded instruction to students in an online environment. This
position requires creativity, knowledge of content and teaching
methodologies, excellent communication skills, adaptability, and
the desire to collaborate with leadership, students, families, and
other Virtual Classroom and Online Learning Facilitators to provide

? Plans and delivers live and recorded video instruction for the
assigned grade level and subject level courses based upon student
need and established Sahuarita Unified School District curriculum.
Implements instructional techniques to encourage and motivate
? Collaborates with the Virtual Classroom Teacher team to
provide monthly enrichment activities in physical education, music,
social/emotional learning, technology/engineering, and art.
? Establishes, maintains, and promotes a virtual classroom
atmosphere that ensures the emotional and physical safety and
well-being of students and emphasizes academic integrity, digital
citizenship, mutual respect, self-worth, self-discipline,
cooperation, consideration, and responsibility.
? Utilizes and implements virtual classroom management
techniques to maintain organization, orderliness, student safety,
and a productive learning environment. Utilizes positive
reinforcement to maximize desired behavior and educational
? Assesses student needs, develops, implements, and evaluates
the performance of students regarding achievements in curriculum
and activities and makes necessary provisions to meet learning
needs. Ensures parents and students are informed of methods of
evaluation utilized in the classroom. Modifies the instruction of
the learning program to meet the needs of each child.
? Regularly communicates, collaborates, and supports students'
parents (acting as learning coaches) utilizing District-approved
communication channels in an effort to help families to
successfully support their children with virtual learning.
? Grades and provides targeted feedback on student assignments
and tests. Analyzes and evaluates student progress and course
? Notifies site administrator of the special needs of students
who display characteristics that vary from the norm. Collaborates
with specialists to assist students.
? Participates in professional development related to online
instructional strategies, tools, and methodologies.
? Participates in virtual school events.
? Participates in and/or sponsors virtual extracurricular
activities with students that are focused on building school
community and culture.

A. REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING, & EXPERIENCE
? Valid Arizona teaching certification;
? Highly Qualified, as defined by Federal Standards, in the
subject in which you are to teach;
? Any equivalent combination of training, education, or
experience that meets the minimum qualifications and state
certification requirements will be accepted.
? Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
? Knowledge of and/or experience with digital learning platforms

A. LANGUAGE: Ability to read and interpret documents such as
curriculum calendars, scholarly publications, supervisor

B. MATHEMATICS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and
decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw
and interpret bar graphs.
C. REASONING: Ability to apply common sense understanding to
carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables
