Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Completed Application (Required)
  • Qualified applicants should posses a degree in Early Childhood or related field, or currently pursuing an ECE or CDA degree. (Preferred)
  • At least 6 months experience working with children. (Required)

  • At least 18 years of age (Required)

  • Valid CPR/First Aide certification. (Required)

  • Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card / Background and Criminal History Clearance.(Required)

  • Valid Food handlers card. (Required)

  • Current TB test (completed within the last 12 months)

  • Any equivalent combination of training, education and experience that meets minimum requirements.

Duties and Areas of Responsibility:

  • Plan and carry out the provided curriculum that targets different areas of child development, such as language, motor, and social skills.

  • Prepare children for kindergarten by introducing concepts that they will explore further in their long term social and academic future.

  • Provide age appropriate weekly and monthly lesson plans.

  • Develop activities that introduce math and literacy concepts.

  • Provide various experiences and activities for children including songs, games, and story telling.

  • Work with children in groups or one on one, depending on the needs of children and the subject matter.

  • Organize activities so children can learn about the world, explore interests, and develop talents.

  • Develop schedules and routines to ensure children have enough physical activity, rest, and playtime.

  • Keep records of the students progress, routines, and interests, and keep parents informed about their childs development.

  • Provide a safe and secure environment for children to feel comfortable.

  • Implement appropriate discipline when required.

  • Ensure equipment and classrooms are clean, well maintained and safe at all times.

  • Develop activities to stimulate the children.

  • Maintain student records on developmental and academic growth.

  • Be responsible for holding parent teachers conferences.

  • Establish policies and procedures for inside and outside the classroom.

  • Become familiar with emergency procedures and protocol.

  • Understand and comply with DHS rules and regulations.

  • Set up classroom to reflect the lessons currently being taught.

  • Ensure students are supervised at all times.

  • Keep parents informed of classroom expectations, program activities, and their child's progress.

  • Discuss student development with parents.

  • Be vigilant about the health and safety of all students.
