UACE Greenlee County Program Assistant
The AmeriCorps Program Assistant will assist with the expansion,
development and improvement of existing programs, as well as
development and implementation of future programs. This will
require working with Program Coordinator Horticulture, Program
Coordinator SNAP Ed and Instructional Specialist, STEM Education,
as a team in continued development of gardens at Duncan Head Start,
Elementary and High School. Signature Program Areas supported will
be, Youth Development, Water Plants and Natural Resources, Food and
Fiber Production Systems, and Healthy Living. There will be 2
part-time positions. Further help on this page can be found by
Member Duties : Assist with: Existing Master
Gardener/Horticultural Education programs and presentations for
schools and Master Gardener students. Development of functioning
school gardens, complete with lasting infrastructure and to provide
education to gardeners and garden managers, to insure
sustainability and continuing success.School garden program support
in the form of teacher in-service training and to provide teacher
assistance as needed for hands on garden sessions. Maintain file of
Photo Release and student data for non 4-H school garden programs.
(Group Enrollment) Inventory and manage educational materials.
Increase younger students exposure/time in garden and connect to
curriculum. Develop log book of garden and greenhouse temperatures,
water requirements and activities to support the creation of a
garden sustainability plan.Log number of students and time spent in
the garden. Filling 3 part-time positions.
