TOPCU, a progressive and innovative Tucson Credit Union, where the work is rewarding, and your contribution is recognized, is seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our team. The pay for this position will be $20.00 - $25.00 per hour dependent upon experience.You will have the opportunity to be a part of a small team of professionals that make a big impact.Utilizing their knowledge of the Consumer Loan Department, the Underwriter is responsible for providing a positive internal and external member experience and to ensure that loan applications are documented, underwritten, and processed according to policy.
You would be responsible for:

Underwriting consumer and business loans in accordance with TOPCU policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
Actively seeking methods to increase loan volume while maintaining a high-quality loan portfolio
Communicating with staff and management to ensure that loan applications are documented, underwritten and processed properly

You will have effective time management skills and be a team player that consistently aspires to grow and improve.
We look for a combination of:

2+ years of experience as an underwriter, preferably in a credit union
Knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations
Strong organizational skills
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Ability to master new computer systems quickly

Knowledge of consumer lending a plus
