Salary: $20.24 - $24.80 Town of Marana Marana is the fastest growing community in Southern Arizona and the 2nd largest municipality in Pima County. The Town was recently recognized as one of the ten most successful cities in Arizona. Marana lies approximately 20 minutes northwest of downtown Tucson and 75 minutes southeast of Phoenix. The Town makes its decisions based on a Strategic Plan that has five focus areas: Commerce, Community, Heritage, Innovation and Recreation.

Position Description The Town of Marana is seeking a Financial Specialist who will support and uphold the Towns cultural values. The Financial Specialist will prepare and analyze financial reports. Will maintain the contracts management database and analyze expenditures and revenue. Will provide support to the budget and contracts/procurement areas.

Current Salary Range: $20.24 - $24.80 Effective 7/2/2022*New Salary Range: $23.83 - $29.20*subject to budget approval by Council Examples of Duties

  • Performs contract compliance procedures, contracts management and assists with procurement tasks.
  • Participates in the annual budget process and performs account analysis; assists with Town departments on requests.
  • Prepares and analyzes financial reports; analyzes department operational charges.
  • Coordinates the Towns replacement programs; identifies the Town assets to be included in the replacement program; determines the appropriate useful life of assets in the program. Minimum Qualifications
    • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or equivalent in a related field.
    • Over three years experience in finance or accounting in a Professional Office Environment or in a closely related field.
    • Ability to pass the Town of Marana background checkAn equivalent combination of education and relevant experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills & abilities to successfully perform essential functions may be considered.
