SummaryThe NPP practitioner engages families in home-based
parenting skill-building using the Nurturing Parenting curriculum.
Parenting sessions include observation of parent-child interactions
and nurturing activity.Essential DutiesResponds via telephone to
referrals within 24 hoursInteracts with Department of Child Safety
(DCS) regarding child well-being, family stability, and case
planning.Develops helping alliances with families by engaging
families quickly and using rapport-building skills such as
reflective listening, empathy, and supportive
statements.Participates in training used for motivational and
solution-focused interviewing to engage families and motivate them
to participate in services.Describes the NP program to the family,
including the frequency of visits, and will introduce the Nurturing
Parenting approachDetermines status of parenting time for the
parent if the child is placed in out-of-home care to be able to
coordinate the nurturing activity and child observation.Provides
families with the NPP assessment instruments, including the PARTI,
the AAPI, and the NSCSSchedules all family's sessions based on
their needs.Makes great efforts to overcome barriers to engage by
demonstrating empathy and flexibility.Conducts thorough and ongoing
child/family strengths and needs assessments, utilizing the program
specific protocol.Develops and implements successful interventions
that will enhance family functioning, increase protective factors,
and decrease risk factors.
Requirements:
Associates degree in human services or a related field or a minimum
of two (2) years' related work experienceProof of COVID
immunization.Must have good verbal and interpersonal skills to
interact with clients, visitors, and coworkers.Ability to
effectively communicate in the English language.Ability to read,
comprehend and interpret complex information.Possesses advanced
knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite computer applications, aptitude
for learning computer software applications and the ability to
instruct others in various software applications.Must be able to
meet training and agency requirements for the position.Must foster

strategic direction.Must exhibit a demonstrated commitment to
