Job Description:
This is a Full time position working as a HIM Supervisor at
Northwest Medical Center.
Job Summary
Supervises and performs duties in the medical records department
for a healthcare organization. Monitors the coding and overall
maintenance of records and tracks data related to patient status.
Ensures that all health information management practices meet JCAHO
and state standards. Assists with duties related to budgeting,
quality improvement, hiring, evaluation and supervision, etc.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others.
A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically
reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.
Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent and 3-5 years of experience in
the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the
field's concepts, practices, and procedures. May require RHIA/RHIT
certification.
