This Student Services Specialist Sr. will be responsible for
working with a diverse population of high school instructors,high
school students, parents, administrators and college faculty in the
coordination of the dual enrollment program while providing wrap
around service to partner high schools. This position will work
collaboratively with departments within Enrollment Services,
develop and prepare training materials, data reports to track
outcomes and achievements, and perform related duties as assigned.
The optimal candidate responds to phone, e-mail, video, chat and
in-person questions and responds to and resolves escalated issues
and/or unique complex requests. Additionally, serves as the dual
enrollment lead in the absence of the Dual Enrollment Manager and
monitors the daily workloads of team members and makes adjustments
to enhance the team's efficiency.
This position is part of the Early College Programs and will
support other Early College programs and efforts.
This position reports to Enrollment Services, a department of
Student Affair.
Essential Functions
40% - Provides professional-level coordination, implementation and
evaluation of Dual Enrollment services for partner
high schools current and prospective dual enrollment students,
parents, and administration in person, online/virtually,
phone, chat and email with the enrollment process, across
Enrollment Service departments including HS College
Advisors. including admissions, placement testing, registration,
financial aid, and fiscal functions.
30% Prepares and maintains dual enrollment website; prepares and
maintains reports and spreadsheets and resolves
reporting discrepancies. Troubleshoots complex issues that require
in-dept understanding of the Under 18 enrollment
processes and understanding of Excel, Excel tools, Student
Information System (SIS), and office and Google
applications; assists with development and delivery of dual
enrollment presentations, correspondence, and
promotional materials in small and large group settings to a
diverse group of individuals.
20% Serves as the Dual Enrollment Lead in the absence of the Dual
Enrollment Manager; responds to and resolves
escalated issues and/or unique complex requests; participates and
facilitates departmental meetings and training
sessions. Develops and provides training for full-time and
part-time staff as assigned and in other departments.
10% Performs other duties as assigned commensurate to grade of
position.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two
(2) years of student services or college teaching experience or
experience assisting with educational program development and
coordination, student advisement, financial aid, or related student
development programs.
OR
High School Diploma or GED and four (4) years of student services
or college teaching experience or experience assisting with
educational program development and coordination, student
advisement, financial aid, or related student development
programs.
Desired Qualifications
1) Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
2) Experience working in a high-volume environment in enrollment
services, Admissions and Records,
Financial Aid, Academic Advising or customer service-related
field.
3) Experience creating, maintaining and delivering reports in Excel
Spreadsheets, Pivot Tables, and Google
applications.
4) Experience leading a team or as a team lead.
5) Experience developing and delivering trainings in a one-on-one
and group setting.
6) Experience developing and delivering presentations and
responding to questions from students, parents,
employees, or the general public in one-on-one and group
situations.
7)Experience working with students from
underrepresented/underserved backgrounds and diverse cultures
individually and in groups.
Special Working Conditions
Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D driver's license is
required; must meet minimum standards
regarding driving:
Will be required to work at multiple sites or locations.
Will require some travel around the district
Will require some evenings or weekends Will require prolonged
periods of viewing a computer screen
Will be required to lift or carry up to 25lbs
