Job Description SUMMARY The ideal candidate will be able to verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment. This position will require the ability to operate forklifts or hand trucks to move, load, and unload equipment. Candidate should have a CDL Class A license or be willing to get one as delivering equipment to customer sites is part of the job duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Shipping Package equipment safely and securely for outgoing shipment. Ability to schedule shipments with various freight companies for palletized shipments. Ability to ship product via UPS. Familiarity with UPS World Ship a plus. Load and Unload equipment onto trucks. Deliver equipment to customer site. CDL Class A license is a requirement. The applicant will be asked to drive multiple types and styles of company vehicles dependent on delivery requirements. Occasionally deliveries may require an overnight stay out-of-town. Ability to use computer to receive in product into company system and log all outgoing shipments. Receiving Ability to track incoming shipments if necessary with multiple freight companies. Load and Unload equipment onto trucks. Must be able to properly receive product. That includes inspection, verifying quantity, and documenting condition of incoming shipments. Communication, e-mail and verbal, with other departments within the company. Ability to use computer to receive in product into company system and log all outgoing shipments. Safety Demonstrate an understanding of the basic rules and procedures of first aid and CPR. Follow safe operating procedures of basic hand and power tools/equipment and correctly use safety equipment such as eye protection, gloves, hard hats, hearing protection and safety shoes. Know fire protection procedures and understand the proper use the use of portable fire extinguishers. Maintain personal work area in a neat and organized manner that promotes safety and efficient workmanship. Follow standard safety practices in performing job tasks. Recognize and call attention to improper safety practices at the work site. General Initial and periodic drug testing and background checks are mandatory for this position. Provide and maintain a personal tool supply consistent with scope of work assigned. Make recommendations to improve quality, efficiency, economy and safety of operations within the company. Maintain company reputation and standards through individual attention to detail and quality of workmanship. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Depending on previous work experience, this job may include supervisory duties as determined by the Shop Supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Prefer High School/GED Diploma Basic mechanical aptitude KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals, and breaker control wiring diagrams. Ability to use correct punctuation, vocabulary, spelling and sentence structure to produce legible written routine reports. Ability to identify electrical equipment including the associated parts and components. Ability to solve math problems requiring simple addition subtraction, multiplication, division and raising numbers to exponential powers, rounding of figures, calculate percentages, read graphs and use simple geometric definitions and formulas. Ability to work well in a team environment. Ability to work independently to prioritize work and meet schedules. Ability to interpret and follow a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays and night work; must be available for out-of-town and out-of-state travel of up to two weeks at a time. Regularly exposed to a moderate noise level, dust and moving mechanical parts in the daily work environment. Routinely required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and frequently required to lift and/or move 70 pounds of equipment. Occasionally works with paints, solvents and lubricants; wet and/or humid conditions; elevated work locations; extreme heat; and potentially hazardous electrical voltages. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Possession of a valid Arizona Driver---s License; must be insurable by Company---s insurance carrier. CDL will be required. Experience in forklift operation is required. Experience in aerial work platform (man-lift) operation is a plus.
