Foster Care, Parents As Teachers, Behavioral Health Services, and
Nurse Family Partnership programs along with parent education
classes to name a few! Job Summary The FC Consultant is responsible
for providing in-home services to families involved with the child
welfare system. The position will engage in skill-building,
counseling, problem-solving, care coordination. Position
continually assesses the family's need for support, training, and
additional services; acts as the program liaison to community and
provider agencies; and provides crisis intervention as assigned and
needed.Essential DutiesUtilizes strength-based engagement
techniques during the initial outreachmeeting and/or intake
meeting, including the use of open-ended questions,
affirmations,reflections, and summarization (OARS).Interacts with
Department of Child Safety (DCS) regarding child well-being, family
stability, and case planning.Responds to referrals within two
working hours as defined by DCS.Consults regularly with FC
Supervisor.Develops helping alliances with families by engaging
quickly and using rapport-building skills such as reflective
listening, empathy, and supportive statements.Makes great efforts
to overcome barriers to engage by demonstrating empathy and
flexibility.Conducts thorough and ongoing child/family strengths
and needs assessments, utilizing the program specific
protocol.Develops and implements successful interventions that will
enhance family functioning, increase protective factors, and
decrease risk factors.Engages in skill building to achieve and
maintain child safety and well-being.Conducts educational
activities that promote client understanding of risk factors to
achieve stability.Plans for client discharge/termination, including
providing the family with recommendations for wrap around services
and/or aftercare planning.Links families to community
resources.Maintains clinical records and progress notes promptly
following agency standards that reflect movement towards client
goals.Provides effective crisis management professionally.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in social work or a related field with a minimum
of one (1) year of human services work related experience.Proof of
COVID immunization.Must have good verbal and interpersonal skills
to interact with clients, visitors, and coworkers.Ability to
maintain confidential/sensitive information, including client
files.Ability to effectively communicate in the English
language.Ability to read, comprehend and interpret complex
information.Bilingual preferred but not requiredPossesses advanced
knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite computer applications, aptitude
for learning computer software applications and the ability to
instruct others in various software applications.Knowledge of
Arizona behavioral health system preferred.Must be able to meet
training and agency requirements for the position.Must foster an
