Position Overview



The Telecommunications Electronics/Technician IV leads large WIRELESS LOCAL AREA NETWORK (LAN/WLAN) and WIRED upgrades for medium to large technical efforts at Ft Huachuca and TDY locations CONUS and OCINUS. The Telecommunications Electronics/Technician Level 3 is required to perform duties on various predetermined medical sites. This position is contingent upon successful contract award.



Responsibilities / Duties


  • Perform site surveys, documents work, details current site telecommunications' configuration and user requirements.

  • Design and optimize telecommunications topologies.
  • Direct and lead development of engineering installation packages, Project Coordination Memoranda, and project drawings. Develops on-site installation schedules.
  • Direct and lead documentation of the configuration changes (red lines) at each site.
  • Develop equipment and system test plans.
  • Prepare test reports.
  • Direct and leads development and upgrades of WIRED and WIRELESS LOCAL AREA NETWORK (LAN/WLAN) Upgrades engineering installation packages.
  • Manage the development and production of policies and procedures and ensure conformance with the client's goals, i.e., company/customer objectives.
  • Manage the development and administration of schedule and performance requirements, including budget responsibilities.
  • Manage and establish priorities for network system's needs, analyzes project costs and feasibility.
  • Keep well-informed of new technologies and industry best practices and trends and then plans and advises for implementation.
  • Oversee process to meet objectives effectively and economically on schedule.
  • Manage sub relationships and billing reconciliations, as necessary.
  • Provide guidance and solutions to ensure the information systems needs align with the strategic stakeholder's initiatives and objectives.
  • Manage or supervise a medium to large team or department of multiple disciplines. Medium to High Complexity

  • Travel as required.


    Minimum Requirements


    • Must have 2-4 years of telecommunications /electronics vocational training or professional certification from an ABET accredited technical school or


    • Equivalent military school and 10 years' experience in Network and systems management and control, System and/or network protocols
    • Equivalent military school and 5 years' experience Wireless and LAN networking


    • Must be proficient in using common test equipment (e.g. digital and Ethernet test sets, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power meters/analyzers), testing communications and power equipment/systems following standard test procedures.
    • Must be proficient at trouble-shooting problems with telecommunications equipment, to include system interfaces, and power/ground issues.
    • Proficient at troubleshooting and activating circuits.
    • Secret T3 Level Clearance
    • Expert in Microsoft products and Aruba
    • Security + (Network Security desired)
    • Routers and Switches (CISCO)
    • Must be available to travel as required.


      Preferred Skills & Knowledge


      • Experience managing engineering projects from concept through implementation and successful acceptance testing.
      • Broad knowledge of Networking, Project Management practices related to planning, design, construction and operations.
      • Works well with others


        Physical Demands


        • Work is performed in a multiplex/hospital environment.
        • Must have the ability to lift and carry up to twenty-five pounds and walk short distances.
        • Must be able to climb and work from ladders pursuant to placing/installing wireless appliance on walls and in ceilings.
